GTACC AWARDS

SUBMISSION TIPS

SO THE FORM IS UNSTRUCTURED MEANING YOU ARE NOT LIMITED BY POINTED QUESTIONS.  CREATIVE TYPES REJOICE!  BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US WHO NEED A LITTLE GUIDANCE??!!

Without giving away trade secrets, here are some questions that can help you with your submissions:

  • Fireworks start as a small flame and then burst into spectacular results.  Who in your organization started off doing something small that others embraced and fanned the fire to achieve better than expected results?

  • What individual or team showed influence that enlightened, uplifted and encouraged others?

  • What is your company doing to engage employees and maintain a corporate culture, even though we are apart?

  • How are you managing communications, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching? (The everyday activities that are the fabric of a great contact centre.)

  • What did you do for your customers to help them manage through lockdowns, job losses, unpredictability, long waits, ‘higher than anticipated call volumes’?

  • What have you done to accommodate staff that ‘are home alone’ and those who have to juggle familial responsibilities – kids at home or caring for elderly parents?

  • Have you introduced any new wellness programs to help your employees cope with change and uncertainty?

  • What have you had to ‘unlearn’ to move ahead and grow?

  • When things went wrong, how did you correct and move forward?

  • From the song - what hurricane happened? What did you do? What was the rainbow? (Gratitude for what eventually went well.)?

  • For the give back – what charity (charities) are you supporting and why?  How has it made a difference in the communities you serve? Are there any stories of a person/family who were helped that you can share?

These are just some ideas but by no means the only things to put in our submission.  Just think about people or teams in your organization who really make a difference and impact others in a positive way.  Then do your best to desribe why.

VIDEO UPLOAD TIPS

If you are uploading a video either as part of your submission or at the request of a GTACC representative, here are some tips that will help you shine!

Video Tips

To help you with your video, here are some questions you might want to answer (and also to help us ensure we match everything up correctly!):

Tell us your name, title, what company you are from and anything relevant to the video (the story you are sharing)

A few things to keep in mind when recording:

  • Please keep your recording between 3-5 minutes

  • Write down your answers, and practice saying them out loud about 2-3 times so you’re comfortable with what you’re saying.   There are also apps you can download that act as a teleprompter right on your phone screen while you video yourself!

  • If you’re using a phone to record your video, please hold it in landscape mode (horizontally) for better quality.

  • You can also use your laptop to record

  • Record in a quiet place away from noise or music.  Please don’t record with music, as we may add some in editing.

  • Please record in a well-lit room; we recommend recording your video near a window for more natural lighting.   If possible, try and have the light source either behind your recording device or above you.  A bright window behind you can sometimes darken the exposure and a bright right in your face can have the opposite effect.

  • Try and place your recording device at a distance so that you are framed in the shot starting from just below your shoulders to a few inches space above your head to the top the shot (about three fingers space above your head is a good measure).

  • We can take care of the rest!
