The GTACC Women in Leadership Event is a morning of Inspiration and Thought Leadership! Women from diverse industries, backgrounds and causes join us to share their thoughts around leadership, influence, and how they impact the greater community! As always, this is not just an event for women, men are encouraged to attend too!

Keynote Speaker

Catherine Honor
SVP & Head Global Call Centres, RBC

Cathy leads RBC’s direct centres including telephone banking, direct investing, client care, email, chat and social media teams.  6 centres and 3500 people provide direct advice and support to business and personal clients across Canada and the U.S. and the Caribbean. 

From 2010-2012 Cathy was President RBC Insurance Services and lead a network of  branches, life insurance advisors, group sales and wholesalers for our Life & Health, Home and Auto, Travel, Wealth, Group, and Creditor Insurance solutions.  

From 2005-2009, Cathy held various positions in RBC Royal Bank including Head of Global Cards, leading the RBC’s credit card and merchant strategies in 22 countries around the world; Executive Champion Client Loyalty and Senior Vice President  Global Payments and Client Accounts responsible for:  Chequing Accounts and Payment Services; Foreign Exchange; Global Trade, Business Accounts and Cash Management Services. 

Prior to joining the bank in October 2004, Cathy was Executive Vice President, RBC Insurance where she lead the Bank Assurance Strategy, Canadian and U.S. Creditor businesses, Authorized Products, Group Direct, Insurance Marketing, and Real Estate and Client Experience Council. 

Cathy is the 2017-2018 Chair of Canada’s Walk of Fame and former director of the following boards: Canadian Association of Financial Institutions in Insurance, RBC Wealth Management Financial Services Inc, RBC Insurance Company of Canada, RBC Life Insurance Company, RBC General Insurance Company, The Haliburton Club, Scouts Canada, Moneris, Interac Association, The Canadian Club, and TE Financial. 

Cathy joined RBC from 16 years at Sun Life Financial where she held various executive roles leading Group Pension Business, Marketing and Sales, Operation/Call Centres and Human Resources for Canada.  

Cathy has an Ivy business degree from the University of Western Ontario and has a professional accounting designation (CPA).

Cathy is married and a mother of three.  She’s a leadership junkie and an all-season adventurer who races sailboats, scuba dives, wakeboards and snowboards.

Jumana Dholkawala

VP Sales and Operations (North America),  ACCEO

Jumana is high energy, award winning, multi skilled leader and a highly respected sales and marketing executive with over 15 years of experience working for organizations like Rogers and Vodafone. She currently works as VP Sales and Operations (North America) for ACCEO a division of Constellation Software Inc. She believes in living an impactful life and taking risk while expanding her comfort zones. Her love for travel has taken her to 45 countries and more than 100 cities around the world and her most favourite part of travel is meeting people and trying different cuisines.  She strongly believes in giving back to the community and helping others that are less fortunate and by doing so she believes - we live to our fullest potential.  As a mentor and coach, she inspires herself and others to celebrate the positives and letting go of what doesn’t serve us on our journey to becoming the best version of ourselves

Sharon Oatway

President & Chief Experience Officer, VereQuest Incorporated

Sharon has been at the forefront of new techniques and technologies related to delivering better customer experiences for over 30 years.  As a corporate executive during the 80’s and 90’s, Sharon was on the ground floor of the introduction of office automation, led the start-up and launch of two of Canada’s first full-service virtual banks, Canada’s first major alternative long-distance provider and a leading private-label travel offering.  She later acted as President of a division of US-based advertising agency before launching VereQuest in 2002. 

Given that these major milestones in her career were happening in the 80’s and 90’s, she was routinely the only female at the table.   And, most certainly, the only person without a post-secondary education.  
Many of you will know Sharon from her award-winning direct marketing programs.  Others for her innovative approach to changing consumer behavior.  Still others would have had the opportunity to work with her as a leader or mentor. 

And there are some of you who will know her simply as “Madame O”.  It was through “Madame O’s Martini Madness” events that Sharon was able to set-up and support the GRO Foundation in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho (in southern Africa) in support of women and children most affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.  [Despite its small population, Lesotho still has the second highest HIV prevalence in the world.]

Today, as President and Chief Experience Officer of VereQuest, Sharon is focused on helping companies keep the promises they make – to their customers and employees alike. 

She is a very proud Mom to Samantha (human) and Cooper (dog).  In her spare time, Sharon is writing a musical set in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution.  Why not?!

Elizabeth has been in BPO leadership for almost two decades from her origins in finance and telecom to leading large-scale energy corporations as her clients’. Elizabeth is a seasoned servant leader who is passionate about leading her team members into successful careers and exceeding her clients’ expectations. Her genuine, caring approach has been successful in both her personal and worklife.  Elevating people to perform and being on top of their game is clearly her main focus in life. She is a Senior Director, Operations for ContactPoint 360.


Nara Abrams

Founder and Director, Imagine a Cure for Leukemia


In 2006 Nara Abrams founded the Not For Profit Charity, Imagine a Cure for Leukemia. Nara’s inspiration was her Mom, Miriam Segal. She was an incredible person who touched so many people with her compassion, generosity and love for family and friends.
Her unbelievable internal strength, courage and determination to fight her disease gave her family and friend's comfort during her illness and passing. Nara’s belief that no other family should experience such a devastating loss gave her the motivation to raise awareness and fundraise.
Nara raises funds through local community activities and the generosity of individuals and corporate supporters.  Since 2006 Imagine A Cure for Leukemia has donated over 1.4 Million Dollars which has benefited Leukemia research.
Nara’s passion for helping others extends into the world of Fitness as well. When she is not fundraising or spending time with her husband and 2 Children. She can be found teaching Exercise Classes at OrangeTheory Fitness and Energy Fitbox.  Nara also gives back by investing her time  volunteering with various organizations in the GTA.
